The Floating Mantel Support Rod by Federal Brace is designed to support heavy, wall-mounted mantel beams. The base plate and tube diameter are extra large to ensure the highest carrying capacity possible by a bracket of this format.
The cold-rolled steel construction will give you peace of mind that the mantel beam will be supported confidently for years. Suitable for solid wood, MDF box, and even stainless steel mantel beams, the Floating Mantel Support Rod is versatile for any mantel mounting application.
With proper wall stud installation, these mantel rods are rated to support 200 pounds of load per two brackets. This gives you the ability to choose the mantel material you'd like and have no visible support brackets!
The Floating Mantel Support Rod comes to you in a raw steel
finish. Please keep in mind that raw steel will corrode over time
if not painted. It has 4 holes, sized at 0.26”. The mounting plate
itself is 4.5” high and 2” deep. The Floating Mantel Support
Rod has a 150-pound carry capacity and we recommend not
exceeding this weight to avoid seeing any deflection in your
installation.
