Countertop Bracket Top Flange
Countertop Bracket Top Flange: This is the support flange that is place directedly under the bottom of the countertop or the substructure of the countertop application. This flange will incur the greatest effect of the weight carrying duties.
Countertop Bracket Angle (or Bend)
Countertop Bracket Angle (or Bend): Often used as dimension reference point. This is the point were the support flange meet. The bend may incorporate stiffeners (dimples) which increase resistance to deflection.
Countertop Bracket Down Flange
Countertop Bracket Down Flange: The down flange of the countertop support bracket is that part of the bracket that is fastened to the supporting structure (wall, cabinet, etc) holding the whole countertop application. The down flange will have holes cut or drill into it so that fasteners (screws or bolts) may pass through into the support structure.
Countertop Bracket Holes
Countertop Bracket Holes: The countertop holes are cut or drilled into the Down Flange of the countertop support bracket. These holes may have treatments such as countersinking or tapping and should be of a diameter to accommodate a suitably sized fastener for the project. Countertop Bracket Finish
Countertop Bracket Finish: A countertop may be finished in a variety of ways. The most common and attractive is painting, brushed finish stainless or polished.
Countertop Bracket Gusset
Countertop Bracket Gusset: The countertop support bracket gusset is an vital part of the completed bracket design, particular in situations of high weight carrying. The gusset is a cross member that extends between the Top Flange and Down Flange to resist in deflection. The gusset may be formed or welded into place on the countertop support bracket.
Countertop Bracket Edges
Countertop Bracket Edges: All countertop bracket edges should be free from burrs or other production "trash" that is left from the manufacturing process. Pointed areas and edges should be dulled.
