Countertop Bracket Top Flange
Countertop Bracket Top Flange: This is the support flange that is place directedly under the bottom of the countertop or the substructure of the countertop application. This flange will incur the greatest effect of the weight carrying duties.

Countertop Bracket Angle (or Bend): Often used as dimension reference point. This is the point were the support flange meet. The bend may incorporate stiffeners (dimples) which increase resistance to deflection.
Countertop Bracket Down Flange
Countertop Bracket Down Flange: The down flange of the countertop support bracket is that part of the bracket that is fastened to the supporting structure (wall, cabinet, etc) holding the whole countertop application. The down flange will have holes cut or drill into it so that fasteners (screws or bolts) may pass through into the support structure.

These holes may have treatments such as countersinking or tapping and should be of a diameter to accommodate a suitably sized fastener for the project.
