Care for the Children
Over the past several years, Federal Brace has pledged itself to giving back not only to our local community but throughout our nation and the world through donations to research centers like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and working with organizations to distribute wheelchairs to destitute areas. During the month of November, Federal Brace has promised a portion of all proceeds to the Good Shepherds Trust Foundation (GSTF), an organization that works to reach and assist children in need through a variety of manners in order to ensure their physical, spiritual, and emotional welfare in the long term. This money will be used during the holiday season to reach families in need across the world, and, perhaps, provide some holiday cheer and some much-needed hope to those who are hurting.
Since its establishment in 1987 by Desmond and Leona Toal, GSTF has funded projects in over 100 countries across the world such as Romania, the Philippines, Uganda, South Africa, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and many more countries. With over 10 million dollars given by the foundation, land purchases, building campaigns, medical outreaches, Christian broadcasting, disaster relief, children’s literature production and distribution, feeding programs, evangelistic outreach and much more has been completed to help hundreds of thousands of children and generations to come.
As a private trust foundation, the Good Shepherds Trust Foundation has been able to use 97.34 cents of every dollar spent to minister to the needs of others, with only 2.66% of the ministry’s budget going to administrative costs. The foundation operates under the IRS code as a 501c3 organization with tax exempt states and those who operate the foundation do so as volunteers, keeping their overhead costs low and allowing them to donate a huge percentage of their time and money to charitable works.
Through partnerships with and contributions to organizations in the United States, GSTF is able to target areas of need, leading to countless children and adults being impacted. While the organization functions as a humanitarian aid effort, every act is done with one intent as stated by the founders - every dollar spent, every blanket given, and every brick laid is dedicated to God and, according to their mission statement, the ministry goal is to show the love and salvation of God to hurting and needy children. Scott Toal, president of the Good Shepherds Trust Foundation said, “All that has been and will be done through the Good Shepherd’s Trust Foundation is to and for the Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
